Petroleum Refinery
Since Nepal does not have any significant oil reserves, the country imports all its fuel needs from different countries, mainly India. The country also pays substantially more since it is importing fuel, and not crude oil. Therefore, there is a huge opportunity for the setup of a petroleum refinery in Nepal. This would not only result in cheaper fuel for the Nepalese population, but will also lead to local availability of a lot of petrol byproducts such as diesel fuel, heating oil, jet fuel, petrochemical feedstocks, waxes, lubricating oils and asphalt. The Nepal UAE Chamber of Commerce & Industry can help with any information on rules, regulations and support for the setup of this project.
