NUAECCI recognizes the importance of trade and business statistics between Nepal and the UAE. According to the Nepal Trade & Export Promotion Centre, UAE is Nepal's fourth-largest trade partner. In the last fiscal year 2021/22,
Nepal imported goods worth USD 362 million from the UAE, while exports to the UAE were only USD 3.4 million, resulting in a trade deficit of 359 million dollars.
In the previous year 2020/21, Nepal had imported goods worth USD 281 million from the UAE and exported goods of only USD 2.6 million, resulting in a trade deficit of USD 278 million. Nepal's major imports from the UAE are gold,
copper wire, silver, polyethylene, lubricating oil, bitumen, jewelry, base oil, and other petroleum products. Exports to the UAE include hand-made paper, herbs, felt, garment, carpet, coffee, tea, and handicraft.
NUAECCI believes that there is a great potential for expanding trade between Nepal and the UAE, particularly in the areas of tourism, agriculture, and manufacturing. We are committed to facilitating and promoting trade between our
members and UAE-based organizations, which will contribute to the development and growth of both countries.
In addition to trade, we acknowledge the significant role played by Nepalese workers in the UAE in providing remittances to Nepal, which is a major contributor to Nepal's GDP. NUAECCI believes that the professional potential of
Nepalese workers can be improved through training and skill development, which will not only benefit the workers but also contribute to the overall economic growth of Nepal and the UAE.
